As you get into later Plankerton, the enemies start to change. They are no longer simple husks, but they start to appear a different color. This continues on throughout the game where elemental enemies become more common.

Fortnite weapons play an integral part in helping you kill monsters. To be successful at this, do not just pick any weapon. Take your time to determine the desired features with the aid of the calculator. Have fun in your battles! Fortnite Waffen Schadenwerte (deutsche Version).

However, as far as I can remember, Fortnite doesn’t really give you much of an explanation of elemental enemies and the elemental weapons you need to quickly kill them. So this quick little guide will help make things a little more clear.

Fortnite has three types of elemental enemies:

90% of players in Twine Peaks don't know elemental enemies deal more damage to walls I believe the% is closer to 100% in lower zones, of players that don't know: Fire enemies deal more dmg to wood walls. DPS stat is back, but Hey guys, Whitesushi here to give you a quick run-down of the things to take note of when looking at the in-game DPS stat on guns. (I noticed a lot of people being super happy about it in global chat). — Fortnite (@FortniteGame) December 26, 2018 After 8 Hours, Take The Elf Emote Rewarding Fixed. Thanks to the efforts of the Epic Games team, a patch was applied that included a fix for awarding the Take The Elf Emote from Day 8 of the 14 Days of Fortnite Challenge. We've deployed a fix addressing the issues encountered earlier today. May 02, 2018  With version 2.4.0 of Fortnite: Battle Royale, Epic introduced a behemoth of a weapon into the game - the Minigun. It’s the perfect tool for kicking back, shredding enemies and toppling forts while quietly chuckling at the demise of those unfortunate enough to get in your way.

  • Fire (Red/Orange in color)
  • Nature (Glowy yellow in color)
  • Water (Frosty blue in color)

To counter these enemies, your guns have a chance of rolling an element. They can roll water, nature, fire, as well as energy damage. Any gun Epic in rarity or above that rolls an element should be kept, as elemental enemies will become more common and at a certain point non-elemental guns won’t cut it anymore.

How to Fight Elemental Enemies in Fortnite

Fire Guns

  • Fire guns do 100% damage against nature enemies
  • Fire guns do 50% damage to water enemies
  • Fire guns do 67% damage against fire enemies

Water Guns

  • Water guns deal 100% damage against fire enemies
  • Water guns do 50% damage to nature enemies
  • Water guns do 67% damage to water enemies

Nature Guns

  • Nature guns deal 100% damage against water enemies
  • Nature guns deal 50% damage to fire enemies
  • Nature guns do 67% damage to nature enemies

Energy Guns

  • Guns of the Energy element do 67% damage to all elemental enemies.

Physical Gun

  • Against any elemental enemy, a non-element, physical damage only gun would do 50% damage.
  • It shouldn’t need to be said, but elemental guns also do full damage to non-elemental enemies. Guns can also roll an Affliction attached to the element, which will do damage over time for six seconds.
Fortnite

*Important Note – There is still some debate on the actual percentages. Some say the damage reduction of the element that it is strong against (such as Nature to Fire enemies) is more like 25%. However, I believe we can all agree to disagree that it is “greatly reduced damage” and not be so fickle about the percent.

Double Elements

There has been a recent advent of double elemental weapons, such as the Vacuum Tube weapons. These weapons always have a base element of nature damage, but they can also roll other elements. This does effect damage.

Right now you can only roll double elements on Energy and Nature, but obviously that is likely to change in the future

Against Fire Enemies

  • Energy + Fire – 84%
  • Energy + Water – 117%
  • Energy + Nature – 42%
  • Nature + Fire – 42%
  • Nature + Water – 75%

Against Water Enemies

  • Energy + Fire – 42%
  • Energy + Water – 84%
  • Energy + Nature – 117%
  • Nature + Fire – 75%
  • Nature + Water – 117%

Against Nature Enemies

  • Energy + Fire – 117%
  • Energy + Water – 42%
  • Energy + Nature – 84%
  • Nature + Fire – 117%
  • Nature + Water – 42%

*Note – You can roll Nature+ Nature and Energy +Energy, but… It counts as just one element, so see the percentages above.

Elements and Walls

It is a little known fact that certain elemental enemies do more damage to certain wall types. However, while interesting, it shouldn’t really effect your strategy that much.

Elemental enemies and the wall material they damage more includes:

  • Fire does more damage to Wood Walls
  • Water does more damage to Brick Walls
  • Nature does more damage to Metal Walls

Burning, erosion, and corrosion! It is pretty easy to remember, but not wholly helpful knowledge to know since a wave may be of one element, but the next wave could be of a different element. What are you gonna do? Tear down your Tier 3 walls? I don’t think so.

This means that as you get to later Canny Valley and beyond, you want one gun in each slot (and a melee weapon in your inventory for flingers). You want each of those guns to be of different elements (Fire, Nature, Water) to handle the large amount of elemental enemies. This is crucial since elemental Smashers are possible and are just as terrible as you think. Energy weapons are okay, but not preferable to having three elemental guns to handle each element.
