It's not good on very many champions at all. I'll remain unbiased for this comment and list some strengths and weaknesses though. Stats wise it's okay at best, and the passive is very PvE focused rather than PvP. It's not going to give you a power spike at all the way a Nashor's Tooth or Phantom Dancer would.
Why Does My Runaans Bow Only Do 900 Dmg Free
I've been growing increasingly less impressed with both magic penetration and armor penetration runes.
M. pen marks seem to generally provide only 1~2% increase in damage, which is typically less than a amplifying tome or longsword adding to the ratios. It seems like you could get similar results from offensive runes while increasing farm-ability.
Anywho, I'm trying to decide what would provide the best returns for farming, which is primarily limited to either Attack Speed or Attack Damage.
Attack Damage Marks are 0.95 AD with heroes gaining 2.5~3.5 AD per level.
Attack Speed Marks are 1.7% attack speed with heroes gaining 1.4~3.5% attack speed per level.
Alternatively there is also 0.93% crit chance, which would be a static ~1% increase in damage, whereas both AD and AS decrease in marginal value per level, however, crit chance wouldn't be as reliable to farm with.
Really on the fence between whether I want AD runes, which seem a bit less DPS than AS, but higher chance to get a last hit, or, if I want to get AS runes to improve total pushing ability.
Anywho just curious what people do with their marks outside of penetration, which really doesn't seem worth it when you look at the minimal effect it has.
I am not sure if I should have posted this in the general discussion rather then here because its more of a question but here goes.
Runaan's applies on-hit effects. This includes obvious ones like critical strikes and lifesteal. Also, it includes others like stacks of Rageblade, Wits End, Frozen Mallet, ect.
First of all, I know you get three stacks of the magic resist from Wits End for one basic attack since you hit 3 targets at once, but does the shred aspect of it stack on your main target if the side bolts shred a secondary target?
2: Is Entropy's true damage active on the secondary bolts?
3: Basic attacks increase duration of Ghostblade. So does that mean u get three stacks of the duration from the Runaans?
4: I was reading the passive on Iceborn Gauntlets and I realized the description states:
'After using an ability, the next basic attack (on hit) deals bonus physical damage equal to 125% of base Attack Damage to enemies near the target'
Since the spellblade proc is an on-hit, shouldnt it be applied to runaans? YA RIGHT (I just think the item description needs reworded if runaans cant proc it)
5-A: Morellonomicon states that magic damage to an enemy below 40% health applies grievous wounds to the target. Does this mean that the bonus magic damage applied to enemies from the passive on Nashors Tooth activates the grievous wounds if Morellonomicon is built? And on a side note does magic damage from Spellsword in the offensive mastery tree proc the grievous wounds if Morellonomicon is built?
5-B: If the passive magic damage on Nashors Tooth does in fact apply the grievous wounds of Morellonomicon, would the Runaan's Hurricane then apply grievous wounds to 3 targets if they are below 40% health just from the extra magic damage being dealt on the auto attacks
